March 8, 2008, Hakanson Family Band
7:30 PM

The Hakanson Family Band , plays bluegrass and features three sibling who are among the best young fiddlers in the Northwest. All members of the Portland Metropolitan Youth Sympnony (in their own age categories), when they set aside classical music and take to high-energy fiddling, well . . . that's what Bluegrass is all about! Ellie, 18; Amy, 15; and young Henry at 10 will make you wonder what you were doing when you were that age . . . and it probably wasn't making world-class music! Personal, rambunctious (at least Henry is for sure), and fine musicians backed by great musicians of a different generation (yes, that's mom and dad). A great program for kids of all ages . . . particularly for aspiring fiddlers.
